Keeping the hot side hot

There has been a lot of splash lately about radiant barriers, and most recently on its substantial impact in arid climates when applied to the bottom of the roof sheathing in attic spaces. My wife, in particular, wishes I would stop endlessly praising the benefits at every even slightly-related moment when it presents itself.

So, we’ll replace my pitch with something much better – scientific data.

This study shows a 23 degree energy drop in radiant barrier attics, a 20% reduction in AC run time, and a 57% improvement in the cooled air delivered through ducts.

Good thing I’m not the kind to say “I told you so.”
